Adventure to sacred land

Adventure to sacred land

The Superstition Mountains, WOW is the first thing that comes to my mind after my visit there this past February. I love photography but unfortunately I don’t get to travel much for that work, so whenever I go somewhere I usually bring my Canon 5D Mark III so I can capture whatever I can while [...]

2014 Top 10 Photographs

2014 Top 10 Photographs

It was a a busy and exciting 2014. On my video side of things I covered some great events (Red Wings Alumni Game, NFL Playoffs and Super Bowl, Tigers Regular Season and Playoffs etc.) and told some great stories about athletes and everyday people through projects with Detroit Public Television and Good Problem Productions. I’ve [...]

Pure Michigan

Pure Michigan

I had the opportunity to visit Traverse City for a week over the 4th of July holiday to cover the Detroit Red Wings Rookie Camp for Fox Sports Detroit. -American Flag on West Grand Traverse Bay- Let me just get it out of the way that I absolutely LOVE Traverse City it’s surrounding area. This [...]

Mother Nature’s little wonders

Springtime and Summer are full of warming days, greener landscapes, and bright colorful flowers all around us. Being a Nature fanatic, one of my most favorite things to photograph are flowers. When we are out and about I’m sure you see them all over, but do you actually “see” them? Flowers are such an amazing [...]

Pure Michigan

Pure Michigan

With Summer just around the corner I wanted to share a couple shots of Pure Michigan. Towards the end of last summer I was up in Traverse City for a Detroit Red Wings shoot for Fox Sports Detroit. Northern Michigan is always beautiful in my opinion but especially magical in Summer in to Autumn. Being [...]

Nature walk

One of favorite things to do is to grab the camera, take a walk, and just see what nature has to offer. Although Michigan doesn’t have all the exotic types of animals like I saw down in Florida, it does offer great landscapes, birds, and lakes/ponds. Today I went out to a new location, the [...]

Baseball from a different angle

Baseball from a different angle

Most of my work is done shooting interviews and for feature stories. Sometimes though I get a call to shoot a game for broadcast. It is a much different way to shoot when you are amongst 6-8 other cameras covering the game with a director in your ear. While it is different, it definitely is [...]

2014 Detroit Tigers Opening Day

Working as a Cinematographer mostly in the Sports world (Fox Sports, NFL Films etc..) I get to shoot a lot of major sporting events. This past Monday was no exception. Another year and another jammed packed Detroit Tigers Opening Day at Comerica Park. Opening Days are always a spectacle but 2014′s version in Detroit seemed a little more “packed”. The Tigers drew a record attendance for an Opening Day at Comerica Park and as I was walking around shooting flavor shots for Fox Sports Detroit I swear there were at least another 10 thousand fans outside at local bars and tailgating. Now I obviously don’t have exact numbers but the turnout in Detroit for that game was amazing and makes me believe that maybe the argument for Opening Day to be a National holiday has some weight.

I wore a couple hats on this day including shooting Pre Game sound for the Fox Sports Detroit broadcast and shooting flavor for Tigers Weekly which airs on Fox Sports Detroit. While I was out I was able to snap a few shots from some different spots where I was roaming around with my camera. This one below is the National Anthem from behind home plate.

It was another day at work for me but I am blessed to be able to do what I love and cover these major events. For a couple more shots from Opening Day click the Title of this blog and check out “Various Photography” under my Portfolio section.
